Skate Coastal is a skateboarding program that offers summer camps, after-school programs & special events to children ages 4-12 throughout Orange County, California. Founded by a team with extensive backgrounds in both career skateboarding and childhood educational development, Skate Coastal will deliver an amazing & unique experience for your child! Our goal each week is to get your child riding, & walking away with new friends to ride with! COACH ANDRÉ
Meet André Cywinski, a passionate skateboarder with a lifelong dedication to the sport. Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, André's skateboarding journey began in 1985, and he quickly rose through the ranks, competing in Brazilian Skateboard Contests until 1995. In pursuit of new adventures, André embarked on a life-changing move to Norway in 1995 before returning to Brazil in 1997.
In 1997, André made history as South America's first professional skateboarder and snowboarder, showcasing his talents on both fronts. His achievements caught the attention of ESPN Brasil, leading to an invitation to become an X Games announcer in 1999. That same year, André founded Familia Brasil Video, his first venture into video production.
For over two decades, André has remained a prominent figure in Brazil's skateboarding scene, consistently ranking among the top 10 skaters nationally and internationally. Transitioning from competition to judging in 2009, André has officiated skateboard Park, Vert, and Mega ramp contests worldwide. His expertise led to judging gigs at the prestigious Summer X Games in Brazil and Barcelona in 2013.
In 2016, André embarked on a new chapter, relocating to California to pursue further education. Today, armed with a Master's in Business Administration, André continues to make waves in the skateboarding community. Despite 34 years of skateboarding under his belt, André remains actively involved in competitions, judging, and his true passion – videography.
But André's influence extends beyond the skatepark. Committed to social responsibility, André founded Skatescola in 2007, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for underprivileged children in São Paulo's remote districts, known as "Favelas." Through Skatescola, André empowers children through skateboarding, fostering values like responsibility, respect, friendship, teamwork, and sociability.
With fluency in four languages – English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Norwegian – André's reach knows no bounds. COACH JACKSON
Introducing Coach Jackson Yohr, a seasoned skateboarder, snowboarder, and surfer with a heart of gold! With over 8 years in the sponsored career scene and 5 years of coaching experience, Jackson is not just ridiculously skilled on the board, but also a mentor who specializes in guiding young students, including a special skill set for coaching those with special needs. Parents adore Jackson for his approachable nature, genuine talent, and unwavering kindness. Plus, they can rest assured knowing he's CPR certified, prioritizing safety alongside fun and skill development for every child he works with.
COACH BRYCE
Introducing Bryce Wagner, hailing from the vibrant shores of Dana Point, California, brings a thrilling blend of expertise to the world of skateboarding. A graduate of Dana Hills with a knack for riding waves and wheels alike, Bryce's journey from surf team standout to licensed cosmetologist and skateboard coach is nothing short of inspirational. Bryce’s infectious enthusiasm for the sport, honed over a lifetime of riding waves and perfecting ollies, makes him a dynamic mentor for kids eager to conquer the skatepark.
In Bryce's world, skateboard coaching isn't just about tricks—it's about helping his students master the art of balance, timing, and resilience. Having navigated his own path through countless falls and triumphs, Bryce understands the value of safe progression. His coaching philosophy centers on teaching children the importance of proper falling techniques, ensuring they stay injury-free while maximizing their fun on the board.
